THINGS YOU SHOULD AVOID FOR GOOD GENITAL HEALTH:

This article is just for ladies but men can also read it to share with their female relatives or colleagues. It contains a few pieces of advice from urologists for ladies to avoid doing certain things that they figure out to be good but in reality, may be harmful for their bladder health.

1. Stop Doing Incorrect Kegel Exercises:

Don’t do kegel exercises but after learning how to do them under the guidance of a physical therapist or a urologist. These exercises are meant to build up the stamina of pelvic muscles and are certainly useful however due to various distinct reasons these are not recommended for everyone since it’s not appropriate for all. It is so because doing kegel exercises isn’t usually that simple and many individuals are doing them improperly. To start with this exercise what you need to do is to lie down on a straight and smooth surface like a bed and then relax for a few moments, and afterward using only your pelvic floor muscles attempt to “pull up and in” without using any other muscles. Do not press the abdominal and bottom muscles since it would be an inaccurate method of doing kegel exercise. Further, kegel exercise requires relaxing periods in between very much like when you do sets at the gymnasium. In a gymnasium, you can't simply continue to do exercise with no relaxing intervals since that will cause uneasiness. In ladies, if they do consistent kegel exercises they can develop a condition called “high tone pelvic floor” which means tense and strained pelvic muscles, and for anyone who already has this condition, doing kegel exercise can worsen the situation and can give rise to uneasiness and pain. Certain specific symptoms can tell you whether you have “high tone pelvic floor” or otherwise. These symptoms include urinary urgency or frequent urination, lower abdominal pain, vaginal pain, back pain, and constipation time and again; all these may suggest a “high tone pelvic floor”. In case you are facing any of these symptoms, the best thing for you to do before kegel exercise is to consult a specialist doctor or physiotherapist who had practical experience in such exercises, to evaluate any disorder of your pelvic muscles.   (@ chhanno blogspot com 29102021).

2. Don’t Wash Your Inner Genitals:

Clothes and flowers placed together forming female reproductive system with the message "FOR WOMEN TO KNOW"

Please do not wash inside or outside of the vagina! Yes, that’s not a joke. In reality, it’s an instrument that self-cleans itself, and washing it might be risky. Its “ph” is kept ideally stable by the body itself. There is no need to wash it, douche it or place any stuff in it since it’s all managed naturally and efficiently by the body itself. If you clean it or wash it that will give rise to certain disorders like the “ph” will get changed, a few useful bacteria will get wiped out and will no longer be there to safeguard the required “ph” of the inner part of the vagina which will again give rise to yeast infections and things like that. There is no harm in washing or cleaning mons or hairy areas using soap or shampoo however nothing more is needed or required to be done because it may result in getting dry or itchy tissues or it may cause symptoms of urinary infection though it may not be there and there may be a little inconvenience during intercourse. Thus, you should not buy cleansing and washing items available in the market that suggests you consider if you want to be clean. Ladies! You are altogether clean and you don’t have to worry about the discharge since it’s just an ordinary natural thing. However, in case of yellowed discharge or badly smelling discharge, you have to consult a gynecologist for assessing if it’s not due to UTI or else, and nothing further is required to be done. In case you see that your skin or inner things are tender or touchy and some specific clothes are disturbing you around the vagina the first thing you should do is to wear undergarments made of pure cotton and before you wear them ensure to get them washed in the washing machine. This is due to the different textures and materials used to make undergarments and they could be disturbing for the skin and tissues around there. Similarly, make sure to wear the types of pantyhose having hundred percent pure cotton crotches. Furthermore, avoid perfumed and hygiene items for douching since that may be troublesome occasionally. Also, be vigilant about the washing powder of the laundry and ensure it is not perfumed since perfumed ones are quite itchy for some individuals.

3. Void Your Bladder Completely:

Let’s look at a study first. In this study, more than six thousand ladies were enrolled and they were given a questionnaire concerning their activities before and around they go to the toilet to pass water and additionally whether they suffer from any urinary disorders or not. The observations of the study were very fascinating. It was observed that eighty-nine percent of ladies were anxious over the sanitary measures concerning public toilets while sixty-one percent tried not to utilize public toilets completely. Ninety-four percent of ladies preferred to pass urine before venturing out from their houses and fifty-six percent retain their urine and did not go to the washroom when they were outside till they reach back their houses again. Now such practices are harmful and may create a lot of problems for you since these could be advancing the urinary disorders that you may have. The net result obtained from this study reveals that the likelihood of urinary issues goes on increasing for ladies who were either having comfort voiding or retaining their urine for a very long time until they reach their place of comfort or pressing their pelvic and abdominal muscles to void speedier.   (@ chhanno blogspot com 29102021).

Thus the final topic here is please do not hold or linger on before you go to the washroom to pass water. If you hold your urine since you found that the public toilets are dirty and not clean, your findings may not be true. It is so because a few recent studies reveal that a swab test may prove that your cell phone may be filthier than the majority of public washrooms. Therefore, please do not be so concerned about whether the public toilets are clean or not. If it looks clean, it is clean yet you may use anything else you want to like a seat cover for your satisfaction. However, the most significant thing is not to linger on for a long time before passing urine. Its reason is very simple. Your capacity to pass water is reliant on the size of your bladder which is in between a cup of pelvic muscles that unwind when you pass urine but in case you are restraining yourself and lingering on before urinating you are in reality tightening your pelvic muscles. In such a moment it becomes hard for you to fully empty your bladder because the urine has to pass through the tight muscles which do not unwind completely and retain some of the urine in the bladder which may create a lot of issues in the long run. In case you void your bladder partially and not totally that could be quite dangerous for you and lead you to catch the repeated infection of your urinary system. So in case you have some bladder issues please ensure to go to the washroom, sit there in an easygoing way, and fully void the bladder. In case you linger on and circle the washroom and rush back to work you could not void your bladder completely. Many patients with bladder issues have shown their satisfaction with relaxed and total voiding of the bladder. Occasionally, it’s alright whenever you come across a very horrible washroom however ordinarily please do all that you can to sit relaxed and fully void your bladder.

OK, God bless you. Take care, everywhere and always.

HOW CAN WE KEEP OUR BLADDER HEALTHY BY AVOIDING A FEW THINGS!?

How to keep your bladder healthy? Here are at least five things recommended by urologists that you should not do from now onwards as these may ameliorate the well-being of the bladder to a great extent.

1. Avoid Convenience Voiding:

In our childhood, our parents consistently asked their children to pass water just before going for a long drive using the phrase “just in case”. It means comfort voiding or passing water while you don’t have a feeling of urinating but it may arise in a while. Is this truly harmful? Occasionally there is no harm if you pass water in absence of a feeling to urinate however making it a habit or routine is not good for your bladder since in such a case the bladder receptors would be sending constant signals to the brain that from now on this much urine in the bladder is enough to be accepted as though the bladder is full even though more space is available in the bladder to make it full. This signal is deciphered in the brain and it begins accepting lesser urine in the bladder as a full bladder and triggers a feeling of going to pass water quite frequently than usual.  (@ chhanno blogspot com 23102021)

In a study conducted on the subject, university students up to thirty-five years of age were asked certain questions. The questionnaire contained some queries like their habits to urinate as well as what and how much water they drank during the day. Now, university students up to 35 years of age seldom go to the washroom to pass water in the middle of their sleep at night since it’s quite unusual for them to even a single time. It was observed in this study that the students accustomed to comfort voiding were also used to passing water in the middle of their sleep at night more than twice as many times as the other students who were not in the habit of comfort voiding. It can't be said with surety that comfort voiding is related to nighttime passing water however it’s an indication of having some association with urinary issues in the future. So in case you want to go to the washroom before driving to a distant destination quite occasionally it’s alright, but it should not be designed like something happening daily.

2. Don’t Smoke:

Most of our population doesn’t realize that smoking enhances the chances of cancer manifolds. Sometimes the risk increases by 3 times. Tobacco leaves and tobacco smoke contains nearly 7,000 chemicals out of which around seventy chemicals can cause cancer for sure. When someone smokes tobacco, he absorbs these chemicals through blood. These chemicals after being filtered through the kidneys remain in the bladder for up to maybe a few hours and thus put you at risk as compared to the nonsmokers. Smoking can irritate the inner walls of the bladder and prompt you to go to the bathroom to urinate more often than usual.

Finally, smoking may also induce a persistent cough. Coughing raises stress on the abdomen and then the bladder and people having weak muscles in their pelvic floor can discharge a few drops of urine when they have a cough. It’s quite hard to quit smoking however you can get help from many resources. For example, you can consult your health care physician, you can go to a smoking cessation center, you can get help from somebody trained to assist you to quit smoking and you can approach many available resources accessible to help you on the web.

3. Avoid Bladder Stimulants:

Edible stuff which you eat or drink causing bladder irritation so that you are compelled to go to the washroom and pass water are called bladder irritants. A few individuals can also have urinary disorders due to these kinds of stuff. Most common bladder stimulants include alcohol and caffeine, while less common are sour foodstuffs, spicy foodstuffs, soft drinks, and synthetic sweeteners. What will be the effect of these stuff after some time say four or five years if you take too many of them? Although we don’t have a definite answer to this question however a study was conducted on the subject to find an answer to this query. Nearly five thousand men and women were included in this study.

They were given a questionnaire and questions about their fluid intake and urinary indications were asked. After 5 years they were asked the same questions and then analyzed the results which were quite significant for both males and females separately. It was observed that after five years the chances to have urinary disorders are higher in men if their daily intake of coffee remained two cups or more. The reason why it happened could not be established however a link between the two things was evident. It was also observed that men who used citrus fruit or juice have lesser chances of urinary disorders. It may be so perhaps due to the reason that there is an antioxidant in citrus fruit. It’s a defending substance for the prostate region and beneficial for urinary disorders. So far as women are concerned it was observed that after five years there did not happen any variation in their urinary routines if they have been drinking coffee daily however the chances of their having urinary disorders particularly urinary urgency got worse over 5 years in case they had been increasing their coffee intake during that time. Soft carbonated drinks were also observed in the study to have a connection with increased urine or bladder disorders if consumed daily for a long time.

4. Don’t Get Dehydrated:

It’s not wise to drink a lesser amount of water and dehydrate yourself to reduce your frequency of urinating because it will concentrate your urine and the urine will acquire a color of dark yellow instead of pale yellow. Concentrated urine can disturb the bladder to get any disorder like urinary urgency etc. Persons who have repeated infections of the bladder or urinary system (UTI) may increase their risk factors for UTI due to dehydration. However, drinking more water or other fluids is the basic method to lower your chances of having repeated UTIs.  (@ chhanno blogspot com 23102021)

5. Don’t Hold Your Urine:

If you are feeling to go to the bathroom to pass water please void your bladder as early as possible and avoid holding urine for hours at a time. Although we all do it sometimes when we feel like going to the washroom but are busy with other activities and it’s alright occasionally yet it may not be made a habit as doing so may weaken the muscles of the bladder over a long period. It can likewise lead to pelvic floor dysfunction and that means that emptying the bladder may become difficult for you each time when you go to urinate. That can cause various urinary disorders in the long run. After several years your pelvic floor muscles become so fragile that you can be unable to urinate, but that doesn't occur quite often. However, there is a possibility. Furthermore, when you cannot fully void the bladder some of the urine is simply left in the bladder significantly for hours, and your chances of getting an infection increase since your bladder is not fully empty. It’s alright if you do it occasionally, but please don't overlook your need to urinate always since it may contribute to serious issues down the line.

That’s all for now, God bless you everywhere and always.
